Myanmar authorities have brought back 5,171 Myanmar nationals home from abroad by relief flights as of Thursday, according to a release from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Xinhua reported.

Due to the suspension of international commercial flights during the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has been making efforts to bring back its citizens stranded in foreign countries, in cooperation with the authorities concerned.

On Thursday morning, 143 Myanmar citizens stranded in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain arrived at the Yangon International Airport.
