The Anti-Human Trafficking Police helped a young Nepalese woman staying in a hotel in Pazundaung Township at the request of the embassy of Nepal on 5 February, state media reported.

Although she holds a passport, the girl contacted her brother in Nepal, seeking his help to return her to home after she lost touch with her broker.

When questioned, the girl told police she got in touch with a woman employed as a maid in Kuwait last month. The woman persuaded her to go to Myanmar and find work as a maid, and got her in touch with a broker from Nepal.

When she lost touch with the broker on 4 February, she tried to get in touch with her brother, who then applied to the embassy of Nepal in Myanmar to help find her.
