Art festival seeks more constructive practices online to counter negativity

An art festival entitled ‘Beautiful Words Therapy’ is being held at the Secretariat Building in Yangon with the objective of encouraging more constructive practices to use online.

This festival is jointly organized by Love Frankie, Social Environment Change and Progress Agency, and Pyinsa Ratha, domestic art group of various arts, and art creations made by ten artists that are being displayed at this exhibition for 16 days from November 2 to 17.

Aung Sett Lin from Pyinsa Ratha said, “Ten artists will display their art. These art creations will be unique and different from arts created by other artists. Especially these art creations will be in different mediums. The visitors will see paintings and other different art creations. These different art creations will inspire different thinking and concepts.”

The event organizers say t the objective of the exhibition is to counter the aggressive and pessimistic internet culture that is widespread today including hate speech.

“There will be no hatred among the audience if we exchange lovely and pleasant words as we said when we were young. We see the creation of art displaying love, and some are questioning themselves if I am right in doing this work, and if it will make other people angry, and so forth,” Aung Set Lin added.

Visitors should find the art creations will promote kindness and empathy.

The exhibition is free and is open from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
