After participating in the European Film Festival with the screening, both in Yangon and Mandalay, of the moving movie “Like Crazy” by Paolo Virzì, and after organizing the successful Jazz Concert with Danilo Rea last 27 September, the Embassy of Italy will host two other important cultural events in October, very different from one another, according to a press release.
The first one will be a Classical Music Concert which will take place on 25 October at 7 pm at the Strand Hotel (Grand Ballroom).
Three renowned Italian musicians (violin, cello and clavinova from the “Filarmonica dell’Opera Italiana Bruno Bartoletti”) will perform alongside the students of the “Orchestra for Myanmar”.
After training together since last June, they will “merge” into a unique orchestra to play the most famous masterpiece by Vivaldi: the Four Seasons, an extremely challenging but at the same time beautiful and memorable repertoire!
The second event will be held the day after, 26 October, always at 7 pm at the Strand Hotel (Grand Ballroom), and will be a Theatre Show.
Three actors will reinterpret in a contemporary way some of the tales taken from Boccaccio’s Decameron, a famous Italian masterpiece written in the XIV century which has inspired European modern prose literature and which is still capable nowadays to amuse people and make them reflect on some common problems in our societies.
The performance will be in English and based on interaction with the public.
