Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye yesterday paid his last respects to Myaing Gyi Ngu Sayadaw, a monk renowned for his social and religious services in the interests of the nation and his native Kayin State, state media reported.
Myaing Gyi Ngu Sayadaw Bhaddanta U Thu Za Na passed away at age 71 (Vasa 52) on 30 October.
His remains are being kept at a temporary chamber in the Sone-nan-tha Myaing-sway town, Myaing Gyi Ngu region, Kayin State, so people can pay their respects. The final rites and cremation ceremony will be held on 27 November.
