First-ever pedestrian subway to be built in Yangon

A pedestrian subway costing over two billion kyats the first-ever such underpass in Yangon will be built near Agriculture Department bus stop, Pyi Road, connecting TTC high school under Yangon Education University and Junction Square Mall.

This pedestrian underpass will be 77 feet in length and 10 feet in height.

Yangon Legislative Assembly legislator Tin Win from Kamayut constituency (1) said that previously it was planned to build a footbridge but it could not be implemented due to various circumstances.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
