Former MP Hla Swe aka Bullet Hla Swe said at a mass rally welcoming the military’s announcement of ceasing fire, that he would not agree to amendments which would jeopardize the constitution and endanger the country’s sovereignty.

The mass rally was held to welcome the Tatmadaw’s (military) announcement for ceasing military operations and calling on all ethnic nationalities for joining in peace process, in Yangon in front of Sule Town Hall.

The ruling NLD party moved an emergency motion at Union Parliament to form a preparatory committee for amending the 2008 constitution. Parliament passed the motion with 394 Yes votes and 17 Nay votes.
