President Win Myint said that guns had almost fell silent in Karen State because the peace process and now the State was enjoying fruits of peace and development.

In his felicitations on the 63rd Karen State Day which fell on November 7, President Win Myint said, “In Karen State which suffered severely the plight of armed conflict in the past is now experiencing all guns almost falling silent.”

Moreover, the President added that in its efforts of development in the whole union, the government was doing all round development in road communication, education, health, human resources, electrification, development of small enterprises and cottage industries, and development of nature-based tourism in Karen State.

As for the emergence of a future democratic federal union, the government has conducted Union Peace Conference or 21st Panglong Conference three times and 51 points of basic principles for Union Accord were achieved in these conferences.
