Indian Cycling Expedition reaches Mandalay

           
A four-member team from the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS), Ministry of Defence, Government of India, Dirang Village, Arunachal Pradesh, led by Col Sarafraj Singh of MTB Cycling Expedition using the theme "Cycle for Green Earth," reached Mandalay on 20th December from Moreh-Tamu land border. 

The team is on a four Nations tour-Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, they will cover   4000 kms in 40 days. On arrival they were warmly received and welcomed by Consul General H. E. Nandan Singh Bhaisora and other officials at the Consulate. They were also accompanied by members of Myanmar Cycling Federation who are facilitating their journey. 

Later, the Consul General hosted a dinner for them along with Regional MP from Mandalay and some members of Myanmar Cycling Federation. They are on a journey to promote not only Green Earth and tourism but also the training facilities for adventure sports on land, air and water available at the Institute. 

They were flagged off for Meiktila on 22nd Dec by Consul Mr R. Rumthao and other officers of the Consulate.
