Junta bunker bombed in Yangon’s Mayangone Township

A bunker where junta troops were stationed at Thamine junction in Mayangone township, Yangon was reportedly bombed by resistance forces and there was an exchange of fire, at 11:30 am on 17 May.

The attack on the junta-built bunker was carried out as part of the “Nan Htike Aung Operation”, allegedly three soldiers were killed and two were injured.

''This was a short-range attack with bombs and there was an exchange of fire. Three military soldiers were killed and two others were injured in the clashes. Then, we retreated safety without suffering any injuries', said a representative of the Dictatorship Revolution People’s Army (DRPA).

The DRPA were able to carry out the attack because they received support in the form of weapons, funds, manpower and information from coalition forces, according to the representative.

He said that the operation had been jointly implemented by the DRPA, the Five Revolutionary Giants and the Mayangone People’s Resistance Force.
