Myanmar has launched the environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and preliminary geological survey of Kyauk Phyu Deep-Sea Port (KPDSP) project in Kyauk Phyu, western Rakhine state, Xinhua reported.

Authorized by Kyauk Phyu Deep Sea Port Special Economic Zone Management Committee (KPSEZMC), CITIC Consortium will conduct the start-up works on behalf of the project's Joint Venture incorporated in the future.

Strictly following Myanmar laws and regulations, and international practice, CITIC Consortium pledged to carry out the project's preparation works in a rigorous, open and transparent manner. During the process of ESIA, CITIC will develop participation mechanisms for all stakeholders of the project in order to take extensive and adequate consultation.
