Myanmar Prisons Department said that 178 students sat matriculation exam for 2019-20 academic year and out of them, 108 students passed.

The pass percentage of prisoner students from 11 prisons in 2020 is 60.67 per cent and it was 54.97 % in the 2019 matriculation exam.

An officer from Insein prison said that 85 students sat 2020 matriculation exam and 58 of them passed the exam so that the pass percentage is over 68%.

Out of 58 successful examinees from Insein prison, 24 students got one distinction each, six of them got two distinctions each, three got three distinctions, one got four distinctions in this exam.

Students from Insein central prison, Mandalay prison, Taungoo prison, Katha prison, Loikaw prison, Nyaungshwe prison, Kentung prison, Kyaukphyu prison, Hpa-an prison, Thayet prison, Maubin prison sat the exam.
