THE Ministry of Planning and Finance and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Investment (UNCTAD) jointly held a workshop on lifting Myanmar out of the Least Developed Countries (LDC) category at Kempinski Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw state media reported.

Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance, U Maung Maung Win, delivered the opening speech and UNCTAD’s Head of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Mr. Pierre Encontre delivered an address as well. The workshop aims to generate ideas and suggestions to raise Myanmar out of LDC status, making the transition period for LDC Graduation smooth, acquiring good opportunities, observing the experiences of other countries, and maintaining international support.
