The democracy and farmer movement activist Naw Ohn Hla said that she would contest the post of Yangon Region government ethnic Karen affairs minister in forthcoming 2020 general elections.

She will contest this post as the candidate of United Nationalities Democratic Party (UNDP).

Naw Ohn Hla said she would work for equal rights with other ethnic people, self-determination and building of a federal union if she was elected as ethnic Karen affairs minister in Yangon Region government.

The UNDP was formed by MPs-elect of 1990 general elections and those who accept and believe in democracy and federal union. Union Election Commission granted registration of the party in December 2019.
