The second coordination meeting for forming a Joint Committee for Amending the Constitution was held at Zabuthiri Hall in the Parliament complex on February 15.

Apart from the absence of House of Nationalities Deputy Speaker Aye Thar Aung and an MP representing the Wa Democratic Party on health reasons, all representatives from other parties attended this meeting.

This joint committee was planned to form with 45 representatives from parties in parliament in proportional quota but was unable to settle it in the first coordination meeting so that they had to hold this second coordination meeting.

Parliament asked the parties to give the names of their representatives to be included in this joint committee but the Union Parliament deputy speaker said at the beginning of this coordination meeting that the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and Arakan National Party (ANP) had not yet sent these names to parliament.

In the first coordination meeting the media were allowed only to cover the opening speech delivered by the speaker of the Union Parliament but this time the media were allowed to cover the entire meeting.
