Foundation for Education and Development (FED) Chairman Htoo Chit who is working on the Koh Tao murder case said that they expected help from Aung San Suu Kyi who is currently in Thailand attending the ASEAN Economics and Investment Forum.

Htoo Chit from FED said, “We believe something said by a world-famous person such as Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will have an effective impact in commutation of punishment given to the two imprisoned. So, it will be very helpful if she says something to reporters during her ASEAN summit visit in Thailand.”

Regarding the submission of a clemency plea to his majesty the King for Win and Zaw, the Myanmar ambassador to Thailand Myo Myint Than had a discussion with lawyers from Thai Bar Council on October 8 and they submitted a mercy plea to his majesty Thai King on October 21.
