Two men who used M 150 energy bottles filled with chemicals to cause explosions in November 2016 at the Yangon South Dagon Myothit Immigration Office, Capital Hypermarket and an oil pipeline were given lengthy prison sentences Thursday.

Yangon East District court sentenced Yarkut aka Khin Maung Shwe to 25 years in prison with hard labour and and Kyaw Kyaw aka Kyaw Thu to 15 years in prison with hard labour.

Police records show the two accused planted explosives using M 150 energy drink bottles under the oil pipeline in front of Public Works Department office near the Steel Mill in Shukhinthar Street, Thaketa on November 19, 2016. 

Similarly broken pieces of M 150 energy drink bottles were found in four explosions at the crime scene at a store selling energy drinks on ground floor of Capital Hypermarket in Dawbon Township and also on the plastic utensils stall on the upper floor at the same supermarket. 

Similarly the accused planted explosives at both inside and outside of toilets at the Immigration Office in Ward No. 64, South Dagon Myothit on November 24 the same year and four explosions happened at this place on that day. Yangon Police Force said that they found broken pieces of M 150 energy drink bottles and plastic tubes at the crime scene of the explosions. 

The trial court heard this case for over three years and then the court finally pronounced its judgments in each case on these two accused.
