Abbot U Wiruthu who surrendered himself on Monday was remanded by Yangon western district court yesterday. The court gave the remand through an online video conference to avoid corona virus hard-hit Yangon by reportedly questioning him while he was detained in Yangon prison.

About 30 people who support Ashin Wirathu arrived at the western district court including about 20 Buddhist monks including nationalist abbot Pamaukkha who awaited his arrival holding placards with ‘We Love Wirathu’.
