The air quality index (AQI) of Myanmar's Yangon Region has reached 102 on Wednesday at the hazardous level for a specific group, Xinhua reported.

From Feb. 1 to 25, the air quality index (AQI) ranged between 51 and 100 at the moderate stage that is still safe for health, according to daily data of Kabar-Aye seismological observatory.

On Wednesday, the air quality index (AQI) of Myanmar's Yangon Region reached at risk stage for specific individuals such as elderly and children with weak resistance.

"Vehicle emissions and chemical pollution from factories account for significant portion of air population. Increasing traffic congestion led to lower air quality index yesterday," Kyaw Moe Oo, director general of Meteorology and Hydrology Department told Xinhua.
