The annual rate of inflation in April 2018, based on the 2012 survey, is recorded at 4.12 per cent, showing a slight increase against March, according to statistics recently released by the Central Statistical Organisation (CSO), operating under the Ministry of Planning and Finance, state media reported.
Rakhine State recorded the highest inflation rate of 8.36 per cent, as of April 2018, followed by Mandalay city with 7.86 per cent and Ayeyawady Region with 4.98 per cent. The year-on-year inflation rate was 5.87 per cent in April 2018 versus April 2017.
Yangon city recorded an inflation rate of 3.14 per cent, while Nay Pyi Taw recorded 3.94 per cent, the report said.
