Myanmar will implement an upgrading program for the country's livestock and fishery sector in cooperation with European Union (EU) and German state-owned organization GIZ, according to the ministry of agriculture, livestock and irrigation of Myanmar Xinhua reported on 25 November.
The five-year program named Myanmar Sustainable Aquaculture Program (MYSAP) will begin from this year to 2022 and the EU and GIZ will fund about 22.5 million euros for the program.
The main objective of the program is not only to help Myanmar for manufacturing value-added fishery products to be exported to EU market but also to enhance the livestock sector for increased income, local food coverage and creating job opportunities, the report said.
