Pakistan International Airlines, the nation’s flag carrier airline, has been issued a threat by the Myanmar Aviation Authority to block it from using Myanmar airspace over its non-payment of 52,000 euros, (US$ 60,500/K60.5millon) according to the Business Recorder on January 16.

Japanese payment brand and leading credit card issuer and acquirer in Japan; JCB, announced on January 14 that it expects within the year to launch the issuing of a co-branded dedit card with the Myanmar Payment Union.

Efforts to open up travel and trade between India and Myanmar have moved up a notch as a joint team of Myanmar and Indian officials met in Imphal, India to commence a survey for the proposed Imphal-Mandalay passenger bus service, according to The Sangai Express, January 11.
