Experts seek approval for Marine Geosciences Research Centre

Both local and foreign marine experts are seeking approval from Myanmar government to open a Marine Geosciences Research Centre in the country, Xinhua has reported quoting Myanmar’s state media.
A report which includes research plan and a study concerning marine geology conducted by the marine experts from nine countries will be submitted to the government within three months following a conference on Wednesday titled "Laying the groundwork for Marine Geosciences in Myanmar."
According to the report, by opening such a marine research centre, research relating to marine pollution and underwater measurement as well as studies relating to earthquake, tsunamis and landslides can be done.
