The situation in Burma right now is at a critical point. The issue of how to get a peaceful resolution is the subject of wide debate, and suggestions are many too. But it seem like "playing harp on buffalo's ear" for the junta supremo who is calling the shots, and the 2nd. and 3rd. in his command senior generals just seem to agree without hesitation. History has shown the fate of diehard despots like, Hitler, Mussoloni, Consecu, Saddam Hussein and many more, who died in shame and disgrace. It shows "crime never pays" .From this the junta generals should think of a way to transition with some advantage instead of sticking to their guns and finally meet a fateful end. The "wise generals" always calculate the cost and benefit of the battles they wage. This is a standard military doctrine they have forgotten due to their diehard ego or the desperate fear.
At this point of time the whole world is requesting them for a "dialogue for negotiation, not surrender ". A dialogue is where parties concerned "negotiate, and settle an issue " In the Mangala Sutta of Buddhist scripture there is a stanza that they should remember, which states " khanti ca sovacassata" ( Practice of Patience and to be Amenable to Good Advice ) are causes of blessings.
The role of military in future of Burma is recognized by world leaders (including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi), as the institution for defense and security of the people (not for attacking anyone who does not agree with them or follow their orders like soldiers). It is time now to stop demonizing and brutalizing one another which can merely aggravate the hatred and anger to its peak, killing the spirit of reconciliation.
It is my earnest wish for all parties concerned to be mindful of above facts and ork the way out of the current crisis in Burma. May all beings in Burma be peaceful and happy.
