Security personnel once again resurface in Burma’s former capital Rangoon on Thursday, April 30, 2009. Photo – Mizzima. Security has been beefed up yet again in Rangoon, following the opposition party National League for Democracy’s “Shwegonedine Declaration”  issued on Wednesday. A miniature model of the expanded international airport in Burma’s jungle capital Naypyitaw, located far away from Burma’s commercial hub. Photo - Mizzima. Asia World Company, owned by one of ruling junta’s business cronies and Singapore-based CPG Consultant Pvt. Ltd have been contracted to carry out the expansion plan. The airport will be expanded in three-phases, and in the first phase it will include building terminals with a capacity of 3.5 million passengers a year.
