Laos-Myanmar joint commission for Bilateral cooperation

Cooperation among CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) and the Greater Mekong Sub region

memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Nay Pyi Taw on establishing sister cities between Myanmar's ancient city of Bagan and Laos' Luang Prabang.

High Level Visits

1993	Prime Minister of Lao Republic (first head of state) visited Yangon.
June 1994	Senior General Than Shwe, accompanied by Secretary 1 and the Minster for trade Lieutenant-General Tun Kyi visited Vientiane in returned for the visit of Lao PM. They signed agreements on their international boundary on the Mekong, established joint commissions on economic and tourism cooperation.
