Major issues:

  • Arms trade
  • Nuclear cooperation
  • Military cooperation

Pakistan and Burma have had a growing economic and political relationship in the past 10 years. Much attention has been placed on the military cooperation and arms trade, and technical assistance in nuclear energy. The close military relationship with Burma and Pakistan’s all weather friendship with China are well known to have fuelled India’s fear of ‘China’s encirclement’.
