Two outgoing vice-presidents absent at parliamentary session

The two outgoing vice-presidents were absent today, 1 February,for the first day of the first session of the second parliament.
MP-elect and outgoing vice-president Dr. Sai Mauk Kham from Lower House Lashio constituency in Shan State, and another MP-elect and vice-president Nyan Tun from Lower House Zigon constituency, Bago Region, were absent on leave.
They sent their leave requests to the parliamentary privilege committee on the grounds of serving their duties as vice-presidents and said they could not attend the session.
In addition to the two vice-presidents, outgoing industry minister Maung Myint and another MP were also absent on leave.
The first day of the first session of the second parliament was attended by 429 MPs out of a total of 433 MPs.
