New Delhi - Portions of the roof of the house of Noble Peace Laureate and pro-democracy leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on University Avenue in Rangoon's Bahan Township has been damaged by the killer cyclone that lashed Burma during the weekend.
A local resident, who keeps a close watch over the Burmese dissident leader's home, told Mizzima over telephone that parts of the roof of Suu Kyi's house were damaged and the gate leading to her house was hit by an uprooted tree.
"I saw parts of the roof broken and saw the uprooted tree hit the gate but the army has removed the tree," the local, who wished not to be identified, said.
"I have also heard that the government is going to repair her [Aung San Suu Kyi] house," he added.
