China calls on Myanmar to adhere to the ‘Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence’

Li Zhanshu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), held talks with Myanmar's Union Parliament Speaker U Mahn Win Khaing Than in Beijing Tuesday, Xinhua reported on 27 June.
Li said the leaders of the two countries had multiple in-depth strategic communications in recent years and guided the development direction of bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperation.
He called on the two sides to adhere to the "Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence" and consolidate the "paukphaw" friendship between the two countries.
China supports Myanmar to explore a development path suited to its national conditions, Li said, noting that China also supports Myanmar people's efforts for peace, stability, development and prosperity.
