Failing to strictly follow the NCA causes recent fighting in Shan State

The fighting between the Tatmadaw (the Myanmar Armed Forces) and the Restoration Council of Shan State/ Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) in Namlan, Tonelaw and Panpwe areas in the Shan State in October is because they failed to strictly follow some provisions in the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), says Maung Maung Nyein, the leader of the verification team of the Union-Level Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Committee (JMC-U).
He  made  the comment in the eight meeting of the JMC-U held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre ( on Shweli Road in Yangon on November 19.
