Five more armed ethnic groups removed from unlawful associations list

Five more armed ethnic groups have been removed from the list of unlawful associations and terrorist groups, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported on 14 October.
The organisations include Karen National Liberation Army-Peace Council, Chin National Front, Democratic Karen Buddhist Army, Pa-O National Liberation Organisation, and Arakan Liberation Party. Three others, Karen National Union, the All Burma Students Democratic Front, and the Restoration Council of Shan State were removed two days ago.
In related news, delegations from three of the armed ethnic groups arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday to sign the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday.
The delegations include the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army led by U Saw Lah Bwe, Chin National Front led by chairman Pu Nang Lian Thang and the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army-South led by Chairman U Yawd Serk.
