Labour organisations staged a rally in front of the City Hall in Yangon yesterday in protest at the selection of labour representatives to the arbitration council and the arbitration body, state media reported.
Demonstrators cited lack of transparency and justice as the reason for their protest, saying that they had won legal permission for the protest from the courts of the townships concerned.
A total of 500 workers took part in the demonstration.
