35 labour protestors out of 51 who were detained after their protest was dispersed by police in mid-May, were released yesterday, state media reported on 1 June.
According to the report, 22 men and 14 women were released from detention at the Yamethin Correctional Department because they were found not guilty, however, the others were still being detained for further interrogation
The owner of the factory and the Sagaing Region Government have made arrangements to reinstate the workers who were released yesterday, the report said.
