The Confederation of Trade Unions - Myanmar (CTUM) has requested the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to open a country office here, according to state media.
The request was made during the 105th Session of the International Labour Conference which was held between May-June. The ILO currently has a liaison office and an office focusing on the elimination of child soldiers.
It is hoped the office will be opened around the end of this year, the report said.
