Myo Yan Naung Thaung from Bayda Institute arrested under section 66(d) of Communications Law

Hlaing Myoma Police Station have confirmed the news that Bayda Institute founder and NLD member Myo Yan Naung Thein was arrested under section 66 (d) of Telecommunications Law after the Yangon Command HQ registered a case against him.
“As far as I know Tatmadaw (military) registered the case against him,” A source at the station said. Mizzima cannot yet independently confirm the details.
Former political prisoner Aung Kyaw who is close to Myo Yan Naung Thein said that the case was registered under section 66(d) at Hlaing Myoma Police Station at about 4 p.m. on November 3.
“I heard that the case was registered under section 66(d). About 6-7 persons including police and military personnel from Yangon Command HQ came and arrested him,” he said.
When contacted Myo Yan Naung Thein’s wife replied that she was currently going to the police station and did not know anything about the case.
“I know only my husband Myo Yan Naung Thein was arrested. I myself do not know exactly why he was arrested,” She said.
