The ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) has secured victory in the Kawhmu constituency, a regional MP for Kawhmu constituency told Mizzima.
“The voting results of all polling stations except three or four polling stations are known now,” he said. “The exact result is not yet known. But we can say that [NLD] has achieved a landslide victory.”
According to unofficial results on April 1, the day of the by-elections, the NLD has also achieved victory in Monywa constituency, Sagaing Region.
In Monywa, NLD, Union Solidarity and Development Party, National Unity Party, National Development Party, and People Democracy Party stood for the by-elections.
