Over 300,000 people affected by flooding in Ayeyarwady Region

Over 300,000 people have been affected by flooding in Ayeyarwady Region according to state media.
The flooding has submerged a total of 703 villages, forcing 38,000 people to take refuge in over 180 local shelters, while those villagers unaccounted for are reportedly fending for themselves.Flooding has forced 45 schools in Kyaungkon Township, Ayeyawady Region, to be closed, water has also inundated more than 8,500 acres of rice paddy.
More than 8,000 people in the township have been moved to shelters while more than 2,070 homes from 36 villages are submerged by floodwater, the report said.
