Son of former Minister of Sports to be prosecuted over arms offences: Police Col.

Naypyitaw Police Force Chief Pol. Col. Zaw Khin Aung said that ACE Company Chairman Phyo Ko Ko Tint San, son of former Minister of Sports Tint San, is to be prosecuted for arms offences and narcotics.
Arms, ammunition and some drugs were seized from the backpack of Phyo Ko Ko Tint San, a passenger on a Yangon bound MNA flight, on October 15 at Naypyitaw airport. Further weapons, ammunition and accessories were also seized from the Hotel ACE which is owned by the accused.
In total nine pistols, 892 rounds of bullets, 16 magazines, one M16 rifle carrying handle, seven pistol holsters, one flak jacket, and one telescopic sniper sight were found.
The penalty for illegal possession of arms is three years’ imprisonment or a fine, or both under section 19 of 1878 Arms Act.
Phyo Ko Ko Tint San contested the 2012 by-elections as a candidate for the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) in Ayeyarwady Region, Myaungmya constituency of House of Representatives, but lost.
