Myanmar’s new government formed a new 11-member National Defence and Security Council yesterday with President U Htin Kyaw as its chairman, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported on 31 March.
The National Defence and Security Council includes Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the new Foreign Minister, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, along with the two vice presidents, the speakers of the two houses of parliament, the deputy commander-in-chief of defence services and the ministers of defence, home affairs and border affairs, the latter three portfolios are held by military MPs.
