The government’s Peace Commission and the Delegation for Political Negotiation (DPN) yesterday discussed an eight-point proposal that had previously been submitted to the government by the United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, state media reported.
During the meeting, the two sides sought ways which can help achieve peace in the country.
Speaking at the meeting, U Aung Kyi, Chairman of the advisory committee to the government’s peace commission, urged peace makers at the meeting to work together and move forward, the report said.
