The trial of two Myanmar migrants accused of murdering a pair of British tourists is set to resume on April 30 on Koh Samui in Surat Thani province, Thailand, according to the BBC on April 29.
Ko Zaw Lin Oo and Ko Win Zaw Htun are charged with murdering David Miller, 24, and Hannah Witheridge, 23, on the neighbouring island of Koh Tao on September 15. They also are charged with raping Witheridge.
The defence team is calling for a re-examination of physical evidence and more information on the DNA analysis.
Although the media profile of the case has dropped, it still commands international attention with various observers accusing the Thai authorities of framing the Myanmar men, both 21, and organising a cover-up after members of a local organised-crime gang were implicated.
