The Solar Impulse team says the earliest takeoff date for their solar-powered flight on to China will be on March 29, due to difficult weather conditions over China, according to the team on March 25.
Pilot Andre Borschberg tweeted a concern on March 25 over the stormy weather in Mandalay, expressing concern over the Solar Impulse 2 aircraft which is temporarily housed in a giant tent or hangar at the Mandalay International Airport.
Pilots Borschberg and Bertrand Piccard are preparing to fly to Chongqing and Nanjing in China, the next leg of their world-record attempt to fly around the world using a solar-powered plane.
