Myanmar Commander in Chief to meet top Indian leaders

Myanmar Army chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will hold talks with top leaders in India this week as the two sides look at the possibility of increasing coordination following a deadly ambush on the Indian army in Manipur and a retaliatory strike by India inside Myanmar territory the Economic Times reported on 27 July.
Min Aung Hlaing, who arrived in India on the 26 July, is visiting Goa and Bangalore and is then scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Army Chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Defence sources said increased bilateral military ties and better border management will be one of the key areas of focus of the visit.
