Singapore and Myanmar will mark 50 years of diplomatic relations today and both countries have lined up an array of activities to commemorate the event, Channel News Asia reported on 12 April.
Singapore's ambassador to Myanmar Robert Chua told Channel News Asia that the embassy hopes to hold a film festival of Singapore films in Yangon and orchestra performances in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon. It also hopes to work with the Myanmar culture ministry to have an exhibition of Myanmar's historical artefacts at Singapore's Asian Civilizations Museum.
The anniversary will also be marked by an exchange of high-level visits the report quoted the ambassador as saying.
