Chiang Mai – Burma's Supreme Court on Friday sentenced two lawyers, who work as defense counsels to detained political activists, to four month prison terms for contempt of court, one of the lawyers said.

Khin Maung Shein, one of the two lawyers sentenced, said the court sentenced him and  colleague Aung Thein to four months in prison under article 3 of court contempt.

"The court today sentenced both of us, Aung Thein and me, to four month terms. They [authorities] will come and pick us up I guess. I am waiting at home," Khin Maung Shein said.
