A special court today sentenced popular comedian and activist Zargana to 45 years imprisonment.

The closed-door court in Insein prison found the comedian guilty of the controversial Electronics Act, which is widely used as a tool to put dissidents behind bars. Moreover, the man who worked tirelessly to assist Cyclone Nargis victims is still to face additional charges when the court reconvenes on Monday.
