Thailand Army's Commander-in-Chief General Gen Anupong Paochinda has suggested to the ruling government that it dissolve Parliament and at the same time he has called for an end to protests on Wednesday.

Gen Anupong Paochinda told reporters following an emergency meeting that a task force is being set up to monitor the political situation closely, according to a leading newspaper 'The Nation' in its website.

Gen Anupong Paochinda added that the proposal was a sincere suggestion which would benefit both sides.
