Fire breaks out in Ahlone forest department

Rangoon (Mizzima) - A fire broke out in the compound of the forest department in Ahlone township in Rangoon Division on Sunday, local residents said.

The fire sarted at about 12:30 post mid-night (local time) in a  electric transformer in the compound of the forest department, near the Sin Min bazaar in Ahlone township.

Local residents said, the fire raged only inside the transformer house but did not spread to other buildings in the compound.

The fire was tackled by  fire fighters from the Rangoon central fire department, Ahlone fire department, San Chuang  and Kyimyindine fire department and was extinguished at about 1:15 a.m (local time).

According to officials from the fire department, the electric transformer caught fire after it was over-heated.
