Dhaka - Burmese military junta authorities are preparing to put up fencing along the Burma-Bangladesh border, sources on the border said.
The source said, at least 150 Burmese Army soldiers and over 100 prisoners have been transported to the border town of Maungdaw in order to start work on the fencing as of March 14.
“The fencing will be of barbed wire. Several soldiers and prisoners are being transported to construct the fence. They have all arrived in our village,” said Aung Thein, a local resident in Ngakhura border village, where the fencing is supposed to commence.
